A Bulgarian man was sentenced to 7 years in prison for rape and placed on the UK sex offenders register for life. The crime committed in Leicester was uncovered thanks to a good CCTV system.
25-year-old Emil Emilov was arrested at the airport upon entering Great Britain for rape, which he committed in May last year. The victim is a 19-year-old girl.

According to the investigators, before committing the crime, he visited a bar. Tried to get in touch with girls who were in the establishment. None of them wanted to go with him. When he left the restaurant, the man was waiting for a 19-year-old girl who worked as a barmaid. At first, the victim thought that Emilov wanted to rob her and offered him to take everything he had. However, he hit her on the head, she fell on the asphalt and the man dragged her into the bushes.

The prosecutor’s office defines Emilov as a sexual predator and claims that he had prepared in advance for the crime. He took off his T-shirt, with which he tied the victim’s mouth.
After committing the act, the Bulgarian fled the crime scene, and threw the t-shirt in question into a trash can. His route was traced by the police, thanks to good video surveillance. The very next day, Emilov bought a ticket and returned to Bulgaria. After six months of nothing happening, he decided to re-enter Britain.
The moment he lands at Luton Airport, the Bulgarian is detained. A DNA test was performed on him, which proved his guilt.
The sex registry, in which Emilov’s name is already entered, was created by the authorities in Great Britain because of a boom in sexual assaults. Official statistics show that around 68,000 such assaults take place annually.
