“Lyuben Karavelov” Elementary School became the scene of an exciting adventure

On April 19, 2024, hall of the OU “Lyuben Karavelov” became the scene of an exciting adventure filled with emotion and excitement. The sixth graders presented in an open lesson on topicso”Park designer” impressive projects and mock-ups, demonstrating their research, calculations and work in a digital environment.

The event was attended by guests from the NP “Innovations in Action” mobility from two Varna schools, teachers and students from “Vasil Aprilov” elementary school – ruseMrs. Anelia Angelova, senior expert in MAtopictica from RUO – ruseMrs. Veselka Nikolaeva, director of schoolit, Ms. Stoilova with Mr. Staykov, deputy directors.

This STEAM project was not just another lesson, but a presentation of many preliminary activities and interdisciplinary approaches carried out in eight study hours in various subjects such as CMIT, man and nature, fine arts and matopictika, the children built not only knowledge, but also teamwork and innovative thinking skills. The research and discussions conducted in the classes on man and nature, under the guidance of Mr. Martin Metodiev, revealed the positive influence of parkeffects on the environment. Together with Mrs. Anelia Nedelcheva, the students were introduced to numerous digital tools related to cloud technologies and graphic design, which prepared them for projectsthe wound of park and the creation of Earth Day posters.

During the presentation, the students showed how they realized the calculations for the circumference and area of ​​the playgrounds from projectsthey them for park with the help of the Geogebra application, with whose tools he introduced them in MA classestopicsays Mrs. Sonja Kostadinova. They proudly demonstrated not only their calculations and projects, but also his vision through drawings created during the fine arts. Under the leadership of Mrs. Monika Kalamerova, they conveyed the beauty and significance of parkthrough their creative performances. During the three weeks of project-based learning, students worked 1:1 and all assignments were placed in Google classroom. In the final hour, they completed a feedback survey regarding their level of satisfaction with the training.

In the end, the school community and guests of the “Innovations in Action” NP had the unique chance to enjoy the final products of the project-based learning, displayed in the lobby of schoolit.

The goal of this approach to mastering the knowledge was not only to develop various skills and competencies, but to create ecological thinking in children. They understood the importance of parkabout the environment and the diversity of life in them, which commits them to responsibility towards nature and the world around them.

This day was more than a learning event – it was a celebration of knowledge, an exciting journey into the world of science and creativity. The management of schoolit expresses its sincere thanks to the teaching team and the students of the 6.A and 6.B classes who participated in the project!
