They finish repairing a key intersection, but they don’t open it for traffic

The huge distribution shaft of the Southern bypass collector at the intersection of “Tsarevets” and “Solunska” streets has been built. Already last week, the facility was filled in by the collector builder DZZD “Eco project – Plovdiv” and DZZD “Tsarevets 22” entered the section, which will carry out the reconstruction of “Tsarevets” street itself, reports Plovdiv24.bg.

At the moment, workers and machines of the two associations are concentrated in this sector. “Eco project – Plovdiv” must clear the intersection from tomorrow and continue with the placement of the collector pipes in the future new lane of “Tsarevets” on the west side of the street.

However, this does not mean that the intersection will be cleared for the passage of cars. The temporary organization of traffic, which is in effect until April 22 inclusive, is expected to be extended by an official order from the Plovdiv municipality.

After the withdrawal of “Eco project – Plovdiv”, the actual work of the “Tsarevets 22” DZZD began, which includes the Sofia companies “Sofia Asphalt” and “Vail Constructions”. In fact, this is also the contractor of the neighboring site completed a few months ago – renovation and reconstruction of Hadji Dimitar Blvd.

Until now, the “Tsarevets 22” consortium has carried out preparatory activities for the reconstruction of the street of the same name. According to the schedule, the opening of the intersection with “Thessalonica” should take place on May 3, reported for “Plovdiv24.bg” Marin Yanev – technical manager in the “Road Construction” department at “Sofia Asphalt”.

The repair includes the replacement of the entire underground and surface infrastructure on Tsarevets Street between Hadji Dimitar Blvd. and Svoboda Blvd. – Stage I. The activities must be completed in 240 working days.
