Over 2,000 jobs are expected to be provided by the investors so far in the Industrial Zone Up. This was reported to Radio Stara Zagora by its executive director Radoslav Tanev.

Three of the items on the agenda of the upcoming regular session on April 25 are related to the zone. At the proposal of Mayor Zhivko Todorov, the municipal councilors will have to vote whether to transfer the water supply and sewerage network on the territory of the Company to the assets of the Water and Sewerage Company.

At the suggestion of the Chairman of the Municipal Council in Stara Zagora, Iveta Lazarova, the elders will have to decide whether to approve the start of a competition for the election of three new members to the Board of Directors of the Industrial Zone Up.

The most important point related to the development of the industrial zone is under number 20 on the agenda of the meeting. It envisages a change in the purpose of about 300 decares of agricultural land in the area of the village of Elenino. If this proposal is approved, a procedure will be started, after which the grounds will be joined to the Zagore Industrial Zone, specified Radoslav Tanev.

Already at the end of last year Industrial Zone Up applied with a project to the Ministry of Innovation and Growth for the construction of connecting infrastructure in the newly annexed lands near the village of Elenino. The value is BGN 17 million, and the money is under the Recovery and Sustainability Plan. A few days ago on Radio Stara Zagora, Radoslav Tanev shared his concerns about the delay in the start of the program. And because everything in it is bound by deadlines, the executive director of Industrial Zone Up expressed hope that Bulgaria will not lose the money after all.

In the conditions of the so-called green deal, it is vitally important for the city and the Municipality that the region gets an opportunity to provide alternative business, which also provides alternative employment, says Tanev. According to him, the conversion of the former Stara Zagora Airport in an industrial zone should be prioritized as a regional project. And the land should be given to the municipality of Stara Zagora, because practice shows that this is the optimal option for attracting investors. According to Tanev, this should happen as soon as possible if we want to have a buffer in the peak of changes around the green deal.
