PRESENTED THE RESULTS OF THE PROJECT FOR IMPROVED EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND CARE IN THE MUNICIPALITIES OF BURGAS AND MALKO TARNOVO

The results of its implementation were presented today at a final press conference in the hall of the Burgas Municipality by the project manager Deyan Yotov. The objectives of the project were to provide support for children in early childhood and access to education, improve access to social and health services for children from vulnerable groups and support the transition from family to formal educational environment. The focus of the project activities was the improvement of access to health care, formation of parenting skills, increase in educational responsibility and readiness for inclusion in the educational system of children. The yard space of the “Delphin” kindergarten was completely transformed according to the project and divided into zones of different types and activities – the surrounding world zone, a math zone, an open stage for theater activities, a drawing area with easels, numbers and letters boards and others . The yard space of the “Yurii Gagarin” DG in Malko Tarnovo also underwent a similar reconstruction. Two trainings were held to strengthen the effect of field work and build the capacity of health mediators. As a result of the project, two vans were purchased to act as mobile centers for the provision of a complex of early childhood education and care services in the municipalities of Malko Tarnovo and Burgas, as well as a stationary hub was created in Pobeda district . The project team, municipal administration employees, representatives of interested parties and project partners took part in the final press conference. Partners in the project were the Municipality of Malko Tarnovo, the Municipality of Burgas, the National Network for Health Mediators – Sofia and the Directorate of Education and Youth in Reykjavík, Iceland. The project was implemented with the financial support of the Program “Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Improved Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups”, financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway under the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EMEA) 2014-2021.
