“Tell me” is coming to Gabrovo for the second time. The host of the event is “Buditelite 201”, which will provide its stage on April 24 at 7:00 p.m.

Playback theater is an improvisational theater in which the audience shares what excites them – events, experiences, emotions, and the actors and musicians turn what is shared into a performance.

The told stories come to life in theatrical miniatures, as dialogues, music, poetry are created on stage spontaneously. Each performance is new and unique because it is created for the audience present, but it always combines the lightness of laughter and insight into the deeply hidden.

The spelling of “Playback” in Latin is intended to avoid association with the common meaning of “playback” (using a ready-made musical background) – playback comes from the English “play back” – “return (of what was shared by the audience) by playing” and is creative an experience not only for the viewers but also for the actors themselves.

Playback theater “Tell me” began its activity as an independent troupe in 2020 and has performed over 50 shows in Sofia and the country so far. In 2022/23, with the support of the National Fund “Culture”, it implemented a large-scale project called “Dialogue through the heart”, within which, for the first time in Bulgaria, playback performances were integrated into the regular curriculum of metropolitan schools.

The group also plays in centers for addicts, in front of vulnerable groups, and also supports cultural initiatives such as book launches, exhibition openings and charity initiatives with their creativity. “TELL ME” works with the mission of creating conditions for constructive cultural and social dialogue.
