The placement of a bust monument of Lyuben Karavelov in the courtyard of the school of the same name in Varna was approved by the municipal councilors from the committee on culture.
In 2022, SU “Lyuben Karavelov” celebrated its 60th anniversary. On this occasion, the teaching staff and the student council initiated the placement of a bust-monument of their patron in the school yard. The author of the project is the famous Varna sculptor Zhivko Donchev, who created the sculptural figure of the mayor Mihail Koloni. The project has gone through all the necessary procedures. After the approval of the initiative by the Municipal Council in Varna, the final coordination of the project for the monument to Lyuben Karavelov with the Ministry of Culture is pending.
Among the topics of today’s meeting was the financing of the Culture Fund projects. Councilors voted for eligible expenses to accept expenses incurred by the organizations before the conclusion of the co-financing agreement with the fund, but only on the condition that the projects are approved.
A call for project proposals is currently underway. The deadline is May 12 inclusive, and the approved candidates will become clear in the middle of the year.
