The school community of the Profiled High School for Tourism and Entrepreneurship “Raiko Tsonchev” in Dobrich is organizing another charity campaign. For their cause this year, they have chosen “Home for cancer patients” in Varna.

During the spring break, students, teachers and parents visit the home for the first time and help in its spring cleaning and beautification of the surrounding green areas. The second part of their campaign is the book bazaar organized for April 22nd, where books donated again by the school community will be sold.

The money collected will be donated to the Cancer Home to provide additional psychological support to its members.

Every year, the management of the Profiled High School “Raiko Tsonchev” in Dobrich gives its students the opportunity to choose for themselves which charity campaign they should focus their efforts on. As always, now the children surprise the teachers with their idea, says the director of the school, Nadezhda Ivanova.

It becomes clear that the greatest need of the people in the Cancer Home at the moment is for means of psychological support and specialists to bring them back from the marginal state they fall into after hearing the diagnosis of cancer and to bring them back to those threads, that connect them with life, adds Nadezhda Ivanova.

Ninth grader Kamelia Koycheva is part of this group. He shares that the pleasure of being useful and seeing that you have brought joy to someone is an irreplaceable feeling.

The next initiative of the students is the book bazaar, which will be held on April 22 in front of the school building. The children have put in a lot of work in collecting the books, in sorting them by categories, and the prices will be symbolic, adds Nadezhda Ivanova.

The symbol of this year’s school charity ball the children have chosen to be the rose as the flower of femininity and hope.

Their goal is to make about 1,000 paper roses to sell at a charity auction.

The “Raiko Tsonchev” high school calls on the residents of Dobrich to get involved in their initiatives and thus together give hope:

“We all know that the school is called not only to educate, but also to set moral and ethical guidelines, and it is through their causes that children show us adults how to do good and how to give a little love to everyone.”
