Yesterday, April 21, the 18th edition of the Festival of Children’s and Youth Theater Creativity “The Little Prince” in Veliko Tarnovo ended with an official award ceremony. The awards on the stage of MDT “Konstantin Kisimov” were presented by the chairman of the jury to the actress Ioana Bukovska-Davidova.

The grand prize and statuette “The Little Prince” in the first age group up to 14 years was awarded to the Theater Studio “Artistik” at CPLR-ODK Silistra for “Balkan Traveller”, a play by Hristo Hristov. The first prize for an ensemble led by a professional director was awarded to the “Aquarius” Theater School at the “Vitosha” People’s Community Center-Sofia for “Tales on the Phone”, a production by Simona Popova and the Theater School at the NPP-Kozloduy for “Pri Maria”.

In the second age group (14-18 years), the “Little Prince” grand prize and statuette was awarded to the “Mistery” Theater at the “Panayot Pipkov” NUI – Pleven for the performance “The Three Grandmothers”, staged by Theodor Luka.

First prize for an ensemble led by a professional director was awarded to the “Smehurko” Theater Studio at the “Sofia” Center for Arts, Culture and Education – Bankya branch for Taming of the Shrew“, staged by Tsvete Lazarova, and at the ensembles led by a non-professional director – Theater Studio at Peyo Kracholov Yavorov Secondary School, Chirpan for “Charshiyat” on Stoyanka Trade.

Yordan Brichev for the role of Carlson from “Carlson who lives on the roof” and Deyan Kostov for Petrucello from “The Taming of the Shrew” were awarded for the best male role in both age groups.

Awards for the best female role were given to Evita Pavlova for the role of Sly Peter from “Pri Maria” (up to 14 years) and Krasimira Ilieva, Stefani Ivanova and Maria-Magdalena Tokusheva for their participation in “The Three Grandmothers” (14-18 years .).

For supporting roles, the jury awarded Dimra Nazif, Diana Zlatanova, Ivaylo Dimitrov.

An award for the brightest acting presence in the name of Simeon Ivanov was awarded to Konstantin Slivnishki for his roles in the play “Hay”.

The audience award went to the Children’s Theater Studio “Pinocchio” at the People’s Community Center “Hristo Botev-1872” Novi Pazar for their performance “Cinderella”.

More than 300 young artists from all over the country participated in the theater festival, who presented 18 performances. For the first time, a workshop was held as part of the event. The festival of children’s and youth theater creativity “The Little Prince” is organized by the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo and the People’s Community Center “Izvor – 1873” in the village of Samovodene with the support of the People’s Community Center “Saglasie-Debelets”-c. Debelets and is among the most authoritative related forums in the country.
