The mayor of the “East” region, Emil Rusinov, presented prizes and certificates to the laureates in the essay and fairy tale contest on the occasion of Earth Day – April 22. The competition aroused great interest among children and students from educational institutions in the area. In total, 25 essays and 25 stories were received on the topic: “The earth is our home – let’s protect it.”

“I’m glad we did this essay and story contest, because it’s different and gives flight to children’s imaginations.” In order to stimulate the development of children, it is important to make them think and reason, to communicate on important topics, among which is the topic of the Earth. In order to continue to stimulate children in a different way, this competition will become a tradition for the “East” region, said Emil Rusinov.

After careful consideration and evaluation of the works in the “Essay” category, the following prizes were awarded:

1st prize – Viktor Zhelev from “Budeshte” secondary school;

II prize – Lara Sarieva – “Future” CCHO;

III prize – Sofia Yordanova – “Pencho Slaveykov” elementary school.

The efforts of the children were also celebrated with the presentation of incentive prizes for essays to: Neda Todorova – NU “P.R. Slaveykov”, Krasimira Atanasova – SU “S.Bolivar”, Alexandra Mazneva – OU “V. Levski” and Aya Fedorchenko – Petleshkova – NU “P.R. Slaveykov”.

Damyan Tarpov’s mother shared her fascination with the competition, because children are provoked to think, reflect and write on a global and extremely important topic for the whole world, namely the protection of nature. She congratulated the mayor of the “East” district, Emil Rusinov, and his team for the wonderful initiative.

Dr. Vlahova, mother of Dimitar Vlahov, who was awarded third place for a fairy tale, shared that she is very happy about the opportunity to give children a chance to express themselves through such contests, so that they can develop from an early age as worthy people citizens of the world.

The awarding ceremony was accompanied by thunderous applause from the children, parents, teachers and directors of educational and children’s institutions in the area.

“Thank you to all the children for the wonderful works. I thank the teachers and parents who educate and care for them. I wish you new meetings through a number of such competitions and events that we are planning in the “Iztochen” region, said Emil Rusinov at the end of the event.
