4 new cases of whooping cough in children have been confirmed after laboratory tests in Burgas. With them, from the beginning of the year until now, the diagnosed patients with whooping cough become a total of 10. Without immunization, the disease passed in only one of the cases of a 9-year-old girl.

The positive results of the four children with whooping cough were confirmed by laboratories in the city at the end of last week. In order for these cases to be officially included in the statistics, it is now necessary to establish which doctor diagnosed the disease, said Dr. Miroslava Kiselkova, head of the “Anti-epidemic control” department at the Regional Health Inspectorate in Burgas

Since the beginning of the year, 9 children and one 62-year-old man have been diagnosed with whooping cough in Burgas. There is no connection between the individual cases, said Dr. Kiselkova

Regarding the sources of infection, it is assumed that the carriers did not have symptoms of the disease, specified Dr. Kiselkova
