A new and large-scale educational project, which will cover 3,000 children aged 6 to 10, has been launched in the Municipality of Stara Zagora. The health education on the topic: “Symptoms of a stroke and what is the right reaction to such a stressful event” begins on April 23, 2024 at 15:00 in the municipal hall “P. R. Slaveikov”. The goal of the project is for people affected by this socially significant disease to be able to receive medical help in the first 3 “golden” hours in order to avoid severe or debilitating consequences, reports the press center of Stara Zagora Municipality.

Sometimes around a parent, grandparent or other close person there is only a small child who does not have the experience to act adequately. Therefore, the initiators of the health program: Municipality of Stara Zagora, Lions Club Stara Zagora – Augusta, Lions New Voices and “Heart to Heart for Bulgaria” Foundation, realize another joint and useful activity.

The health education program is called FAST HEROES 112, it is aimed at children from 6 to 10 years old and their families, to teach them to notice the symptoms of a stroke and to act quickly and correctly if a loved one is at risk. The program uses children’s natural enthusiasm to share their knowledge at home and thus teach everyone in the family to recognize the signs of a stroke. With a quick response, there is a 90% chance that the stroke will be survived without dire consequences for the people affected.

For the Stara Zagora – Augusta Lions Club, the prevention of diseases in children and adults has been a long-standing cause through the implementation of projects aimed at awareness, a healthy lifestyle and the organization of preventive examinations. The joint activity of the Stara Zagora – Augusta Lions Club, the Stara Zagora municipality and the “Heart to Heart for Bulgaria” Foundation has implemented several trainings in our city and definitely FAST HEROES 112 for children and their families is knowledge, communication, first cause and understanding of usefulness and the need for mutual aid and appropriate action in an emergency situation.
