President Radev will be in Yambol again for the sports holidays in May, another week for applications for participation

For the third year in a row, Yambol will host the National Students’ Festival of Morning Gymnastics. The sports competition, organized by the Yambol Municipality, is dedicated to the Bulgarian Sports Day. It will be held on May 18, Saturday, at 10:00 a.m. in the “Tunja” Linear Park. In parallel with it, the “Sports with the President” initiative will be held. It is expected that the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, will once again respect Yambol and attend the sports festivities. Among the members of the judging commission this year will be the honored master of sports and honored coach Neshka Robeva.

We remind you that from this year the national student festival in morning gymnastics is included in the sports calendar of the Ministry of Education and Science and is supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Bulgarian Sports for Students Association. The competition will be held with the methodological assistance of the Vasil Levski National Sports Academy.

So far, over 300 students from the regions of Sofia, Plovdiv, Veliko Tarnovo, Sliven, Svilengrad, Yambol, Dobrich and others have submitted applications. All those wishing to register for participation have the opportunity to do so until April 30, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. by e-mail – [email protected] or [email protected].

All students who do not practice any type of gymnastics professionally have the right to participate. Teams of 8-10 students will be divided by age group into four divisions:

– first division (girls and boys) and collective group included: from 1st to 4th grade;

– second division (girls and boys) and collective group included: from 5th to 7th grade;

– third division (girls and boys) and collective group included: from 8th to 10th grade.

– fourth division (girls and boys) and collective group included: from 11 to 12 grades.

Each team will have to perform, accompanied by music, a combination of general-developing exercises previously laid down in the regulation at the suggestion of chap. Assistant Professor Milena Tarnichkova, doctor – teacher in the “Gymnastics” department of the “Vasil Levski” National Sports Academy.

The intended awards are cups for the most attractive performance in the respective division, for the best synchronized performance in the respective division, for the best technique and gymnastic style in the respective division and a plaque for the best team captain for each division.

The “Sports with the President” competitions include seven popular motor exercises to measure strength, endurance, speed, agility and flexibility. The fitness assessment system includes standard coverage, scoring by an independent observer and a rating scale that will be published on an interactive map after data processing.Participant registration will begin at 09:00.
