The District Prosecutor’s Office in Yambol has charged Mr. Valev from Yambol, better known as Dinko, the refugee hunter, the Appellate Prosecutor’s Office – Burgas has just announced.
Valev is accused as the leader of the group and is expected, after being discharged from a hospital in Burgas, where he is currently, to be arrested and charged.
As “24 Chasa” was the first to report, two others, investigated for participation in the organized crime group, have already been charged and remanded in custody. According to the prosecutor’s office, the criminal group led by Valev operated from October 2021 until this April. There are reports that the owners of tow trucks, who suffered accidents or other accidents, were extorted, and Valev’s truck repatriation company initially asked for one sum, but later extorted them for a larger amount.
In the case, there is information about one victim from whom a substantial amount of money was taken and about several others who were blackmailed by the group, but the crime remained unfinished, according to investigators. During the extortions, the broken criminal group used threats of suicide and even threats to their lives.
