The economic ministers of Bulgaria and Kosovo discussed activation of trade relations – Economy

The possibilities for activating the economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Kosovo were discussed by the Minister of Economy and Industry Dr. Petko Nikolov and Dr. Artane Rizvanoli, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Kosovo.

The two met within the framework of the Vienna Economic Forum held in Sofia. At it, the ministers discussed the possibility of concluding an Agreement on Economic Cooperation between Bulgaria and Kosovo.

Dr. Nikolov and Dr. Rizvanoli emphasized the potential for the development of trade and economic relations, emphasizing the cooperation between companies from the information and communication technology sector.

The two discussed, as a good step for the development of business relations between the two countries, activation of the work of the Kosovo-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, which was established at the end of 2023.

During the meeting, Minister Rizvanoli thanked Bulgaria for its support in the European integration process of Kosovo.

The economic ministers agreed to prioritize work on strengthening bilateral trade, especially for the import of goods from Bulgaria, such as food and agricultural products, industrial goods and others.

Trade relations with Kosovo in recent years have been developing upward, and in 2023, the exchange of goods between the two countries amounted to 168.7 million euros, which is an increase of 32.9% compared to 2022. Our exports to Kosovo increased by 6, 6% and amounts to 119.2 million euros, and imports are 49.5 million euros, the press center of the Ministry of Economy and Industry reports.
