Yanko Yankov and Iveta Lazarova file defamation lawsuits against “Vazrazhdane”

According to Yankov, however, there is a contradiction between the verdict and the reasons of the court, which is why an interpretative decision is required. On May 20, a panel of the Supreme Court is expected to hold a meeting on the request. In his first media appearance on the case, the Stara Zagora municipal councilor defined the accusations, the subsequent cases and the sentence as “molded political order”. Yankov was adamant that he knows the names of everyone who, according to him, is involved in this “staging”, which has been going on for 5 years. However, he did not wish to disclose either a specific political force or specific individuals, arguing that the case has not been completed.

“I am accused of buying votes as a candidate for mayor. I am not accused of buying votes as a municipal councilor. The Supreme Court can change the verdict, but it cannot change the accusation,” said the Stara Zagorje elected official. “I am acquitted of the charge so brought.”, the municipal councilor was categorical.

In the presence of his fellow party members, Iveta Lazarova, Krasimir Chervilov and Dimo ​​Dimitrov, Yanko Yankov emphasized that if the court confirms his sentence on May 20, he will immediately resign and leave the municipal council. “My goal is not to kick the ball to get another BGN 1,000 salary. For her part, Iveta Lazarova described as a “political circus” the proposal submitted by “Vazrazhdane” for her release as the chairman of the Municipal Council – Stara Zagora. According to her, the request is illegitimately motivated.
