BGN 1,454 per month is needed to support the life of a working person who lives alone, and the amount for a three-member family with one child is BGN 2,616 – this is according to the latest data of the Institute for Social and Trade Union Research at the KNSB for the first quarter of the current year year. According to residents of Vidin, the monthly income is currently not enough to ensure a normal daily life. In one year, compared to the same period in 2023, the necessary means of subsistence for a single person have increased by BGN 60 or by BGN 107 for a family.
President Rumen Radev issued a decree appointing Dimitar Glavchev as Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Georgi Takhov as Acting Minister of Agriculture and Food, the presidential institution announced. The Nuclear Regulatory Agency today issued a permit to the Kozloduy NPP for a phased transition to a new type of nuclear fuel for unit 5, manufactured by Westinghouse. The process of switching to the new type of fuel will last four years.
336 men and women from the residents of the municipalities of Vratsa and Krivodol are being held for a long time unemployed. Most of them are from Krivodolsko – 181, and 155 are from the town under Okolchitsa and the 22 villages of the municipality.

Activities to increase lighting efficiency and reduce annual electricity costs begin in Vidin.
The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) has launched a spring oral vaccination of foxes against rabies. The process takes place in the 50-kilometer vaccination zone along the northern, western and southern land borders of the country and in the 20-kilometer zone along the Danube River, covering 23 districts, including Vidin, Montana and Vratsa. Specially equipped aircraft will disperse about 1.5 mil. aerial baits, and in no-fly zones vaccines will be applied manually. The campaign is scheduled to start on 04/23/2024 from Balchik Airport, Dobrich region and continue until the beginning of May, depending on weather conditions. Vaccines will not be dispersed over populated areas and water bodies. Around Sofia and around the Kozloduy NPP, baits will be distributed manually by specially trained persons. Vaccine baits are cube-shaped, and their specific smell attracts predators. In case of accidental contact with the baits, it is good to consult a doctor. Vaccines do not pose a health risk to other wild animals.
The European day to fight obesity was celebrated in Montana. The initiative is of the Regional Health Inspectorate and the Youth Home and is aimed at children and students from the city.
In the “Open Door Days”, seventh graders from Vidin schools “Lyuben Karavelov” and “Ivan Vazov” visited the PG “Prof Dr. Asen Zlatarov”.
