The “Flowers for Garbage” campaign, organized by the Pazardzhik municipality over the weekend, collected thousands of kilograms of waste for recycling, the municipal administration reports today.
Nearly 600 people have joined the initiative for separate collection of textile, plastic, paper and electronics waste.
540 kg of textiles and 280 kg of plastic, more than 1,400 kg of paper and 2,060 kg of obsolete electrical and electronic equipment were collected.
Thousands of flowers, saplings and bags of compost were distributed to the participants by the Municipality as a gesture to the responsible separate collection of waste, which has become the subject of the campaign on the eve of the International Earth Day, which is celebrated today.
All waste has been sorted and removed with the assistance of partners of Pazardzhik Municipality and will be recycled as part of a program to promote environmentally friendly behavior of institutions and society.
The beginning of the spring ecological campaign was set in 2014 under the title “For a cleaner, more colorful and greener Pazardzhik” at the initiative of the Municipality and every year it gathers more and more supporters.
