The Ruse Professional High School of Economics and Management /PGIU/ “Elias Canetti” celebrated 141 years since its establishment. Among the guests of the event was the Chief Secretary of the Regional Administration, Irena Todorova, who said that the school has established itself as an elite educational center, educating students for kindness, wisdom, perseverance and striving for new heights. “I highly appreciate the importance of Elias Caneti State University for the prosperity of the region and the construction of a modern and promising environment for the development of well-prepared specialists. I am proud that the Vocational High School of Economics and Management in Ruse is synonymous with quality education, combining tradition and innovation,” she shared in her address to the director of the educational institution, Mariana Garkova. Todorova wished the teachers to encourage more people to live according to the dynamics of modern times and thanked them for the professionalism and patience with which they work. According to her, the successes of the school’s graduates once again prove the importance of spirituality and enlightenment for the Bulgarian people. Todorova wished the students to be proud of what they have achieved and not to forget the covenants of their patron, because they are the key to our better future. The chief secretary handed the director a congratulatory address on behalf of the regional governor Danail Kovachev.

For her part, Garkova shared some of the greatest successes of the school’s graduates in recent months and said that she hoped that learning would remain a pleasant adventure for every student. We remind you that the students of PGIU “Elias Caneti” won prizes in a number of competitions in accounting and entrepreneurship, Olympiads in history, Bulgarian language and literature, as well as in English, and they also have no less sports performances. Among the greatest successes are the awards from the International Plovdiv Fair for educational and training enterprises.

By tradition, the annual “Student of the Graduation” award was also awarded. It is given by the school’s pedagogical council and is an assessment of the overall contribution both in the learning process and in extracurricular activities. The award was presented to Mihaela Stoyanova, who is a 12th grade student majoring in “Economics and Management”.

At the moment, more than 450 students in a total of 17 classes from 8th to 12th grade are studying in the Rousse Vocational High School of Economics and Management. A dual form of study in the specialty “Trade” is also available. The event was held at the “Kanev Center” of the University of Ruse.
