People from Varna come out to clean the city.
On April 27, Saturday, at the initiative of the Municipality of Varna, a large-scale campaign to clean up the city will be held under the slogan “Think globally, act locally!”. The initiative envisages the refreshment of inter-block spaces, public parks and gardens, places for recreation, children’s and sports grounds in all areas of the territory of the municipality.
In the large-scale cleanup, all the resources of the garbage disposal company will be involved, including the neighboring municipalities. The activities will start already on Friday evening with manual washing and disinfection of the bins and benches along the entire pedestrian area from the kindergarten of the Trade High School to Independence Square. Early in the morning of April 27, the bins and benches along the largo by the entrance to the Sea Garden will also be washed. Anton Novak Square will also be washed, as well as the colonnade at the entrance to the Sea Garden.
According to the schedule, all major boulevards and streets on which public transport buses run are planned to be cleaned with mopeds, and then washed. Activities are scheduled for late Saturday evening.
Special attention will be paid to all temples. On Saturday, a frill will be made on the gardens, and immediately before Easter, the pavements around them will be washed.
The disaster of November last year showed us that we can work together and with united forces achieve excellent results, Blagomir Kotsev said during a meeting with the municipal administration. According to him, the management’s initiative envisages Saturday’s action to start a continuous process that will provide Varna with a more welcoming appearance and return it to the glory of the sea capital of Bulgaria.
With the call “Let’s clean Varna together today!” For a more beautiful city tomorrow!” The Municipality of Varna invites all citizens, businesses, municipal and state structures, institutions, social and cultural institutions to actively participate in taking care of the cleanliness of the city.
In parallel with the initiative to clean up the maritime capital, on Earth Day – April 22, the Municipality of Varna is launching an information campaign to increase public activity and responsibility towards the cleanliness of the city. Citizens are being urged to go out next Saturday and take care of public spaces as they take care of their own homes and workplaces.
At the meeting with the administration today, the regional mayors declared their full readiness to be included in the campaign. On April 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., relief materials (sacks and gloves) will be provided on site in the administrations of regions and settlements.
The garbage disposal company calls for the mixed household waste collected from the cleaning to be left in sacks in or next to the containers. The remains of packaging and bottles should be sorted and placed in the containers for separate collection. Construction and hazardous waste, end-of-use tires and electrical appliances, as well as the collected green mass must be left immediately next to the containers for mixed household waste, but not thrown into them.
On the day of the campaign, the garbage disposal company will organize constant rounds to avoid accumulation of bulky waste around the containers.
