Bulgaria must continue to develop space technologies, in which there are already achievements and established traditions. This was said at the National Press Club of BTA in Vidin by the graduate of the Higher Air Force School in Dolna Mitropolia and reserve officer of the Air Force, Alexander Rusev.

In his words, the 45th anniversary of the first flight of a Bulgarian in space is an occasion for our country to realize several things in the field of space technologies and space exploration. In 1979, it became the sixth space country in the world. Moreover, Bulgaria is one of the three countries that was the first to produce space food and is still sending food into space. Bulgaria is the first country to create a greenhouse in space, Rusev said. And he added that our country has two very strong programs – “Shipka” and Bulgaria 1300″, through which it has sent over 150 instruments into space, participated in over 500 scientific experiments, and has launched two artificial satellites into orbit around the Earth. These are facts that place Bulgaria far ahead in world technologies in terms of space and space exploration, he specified.

Our country must not rest on its old laurels and must once again recall this glory. It must continue to develop in this direction, Rusev also said. According to him, this was stated during the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of the Atlantic Club in Bulgaria. Then the honorary president of the organization, Dr. Solomon Passi, stated that Bulgaria should again ask to go into space, perhaps this time with the NASA space program, the reserve officer of the Bulgarian Air Force added during the discussion.

Bulgaria has a future, it has talents and it must move forward, concluded Alexander Rusev.
