President Rumen Radev issued a decree appointing Dimitar Glavchev as acting minister of foreign affairs and Georgi Takhov as acting minister of agriculture and food, the presidential institution announced, BNR reported.
In the reasons from the presidency, it is written that the decree was issued “after a conversation with the acting Prime Minister and proposals received from him on the basis of Article 99 paragraph 5 of the Constitution”.
With the same decree, the head of state dismissed Stefan Dimitrov from the position of acting minister of foreign affairs, and Kiril Vatev – from the position of acting minister of agriculture and food.
A meeting between Glavchev and Radev was expected today, but earlier today it became clear that there will be no such meeting.
Last week, Glavchev demanded that the ministers of foreign affairs and agriculture be replaced because they are not doing their jobs. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today that Dimitar Glavchev proposes to the president that Stefan Dimitrov be released from the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs and that Prime Minister Glavchev take over the post.
