The Varna Ballet “Sense” with the grand prize “Grand Prix” from the festival “Magical World”

The 19th edition of the international dance festival “Magical World” in Haskovo ended last night with the final award ceremony.

The grand prize “Grand Prix” was awarded to ballet “Sense” from Varna, and its managers Svetla Chaneva and Stanislava Vasileva were awarded the prize for the best teacher.

Dalia Rogova and Denislav Ivanov took first place in the duets.

Among the older soloists, the best was Viktoria Nikolova from “Erra Dance Company” from Plovdiv, and the award for a group went to the “Kalina” ballet led by Denislav Ivanov, who received a prize for the best choreographer.

The mayor’s cup was awarded to the team from the National School of Dance Art in Sofia, headed by Galina Srebreva.

The best soloist in the group of children under 11 years old is Ioana Vasileva from the ballet “Kalina” from Gorna Oryahovitsa. In the duets, the winners are Monika Zapryanova and Kalina Marinkova from “Sense”.

The awards were presented by the director of the festival, Milena Nalbantova. There were cash prizes for the winners. There were prizes in the form of scholarships and trainings. Many children were invited to study short and long term in Italy and Germany. The funds for training exceeded 30,000 euros.

Before the award ceremony, there was a gala concert with the participation of the best soloists, duets and formations – the Haskovo ballet “Tangra”, ensembles from Burgas, Shumen, Plovdiv, Lovech, Kyustendil. 1,700 dancers from 80 teams from 9 countries participated in the festival and were evaluated by a 14-member international jury.

“With each passing year, the level of the festival grows. Next year will be the anniversary edition and we expect even more people,” said Milena Nalbantova.
