Whooping cough has spread in Plovdiv, three schools are under supervision

The panic about an impending whooping cough epidemic has reached Plovdiv as well. After the first two cases announced last Friday, two more were added yesterday. Thus, the number registered so far is 4. The infected are two children aged 12, one aged 17 and one aged 5. They have not been placed for treatment in a hospital, as their infection is not severe, Dr. Tanya Uchordzhieva – head of the “Anti-epidemic control” department at the RZI – Plovdiv, informed “Maritsa”.

We will renew the old and neglected gardens in the neighborhoods

In addition to the day-to-day care of the central parks and gardens, we will also focus on the restoration of old and neglected park spaces. We will completely change the appearance of the green spaces intended for wide public use. Anton Georgiev, the head of the OP “Gardens and Parks”, stated this for “Maritsa”.

The rosebush blossomed in mid-April

This year, due to the unusually warm spring, the rose bush cracked. In Srednogorieto, they are already harvesting the flower from the oil-bearing rose, the campaign started from Begovo, and just last day from the gardens of Zelenikovo they collected several sacks of fragrant flowers.

Bulgaria and Turkey host the Balkan Wine Competition

The Balkan International Wine Competition will be held for the first time in two countries with deep wine traditions. From June 4 to 8, 2024, Bulgaria and Turkey will host the most prestigious wine event. The event will be in wineries with many years of experience in the industry and a focus on sustainable agriculture. The aim of the competition is to promote wine culture by creating a platform for establishing new trade links in the Balkans.

The film festival “Archeofilm” is coming under the hills

Plovdiv enters the circle of international film festivals, to which the Florentine “Archeofilm” belongs. This was announced by Giudita Prunetti, director of the Italian forum, which every year shows films from around the world on archaeology, art and the environment. The lady came especially from Italy for the Bulgarian premiere of the film “Ancient Roman Plovdiv”.
