BTA organizes a local conference on the project “Europe in the Balkans: Common Future” in Targovishte. The forum will take place on April 23, at 10:30 a.m., in the Press Club of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA).
The regional governor of Targovishte, Gergana Tsoneva, a representative of the Regional Information Center (OIC), representatives of the municipalities of Targovishte and Omurtag, as well as businesses will take part in the conference.
The project “Europe in the Balkans: A Common Future” is implemented by BTA with the support of the European Commission and builds on the already implemented project “Europe in Bulgaria: A Common Future”. Among its objectives are: a better understanding of the role of cohesion policy, incl. in the Balkans; raising awareness of projects funded by the EU through the Cohesion Policy; promoting an open dialogue about the results of its implementation at the local level, as well as civil participation in issues related to cohesion policy. During the conference in Targovishte, the novelties for the period 2021-2027 and the results achieved during the period 2014-2020 will be discussed.
The beginning of the series of conferences on the project was given on December 20 last year in Sofia. In the period until August 2024, BTA organizes discussions in its press clubs in the cities of Blagoevgrad, Burgas, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Vidin, Vratsa, Gabrovo, Dobrich, Kazanlak, Kardjali, Kyustendil, Lovech, Montana, Pazardjik, Pernik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Razgrad, Samokov, Silistra, Sliven, Smolyan, Sofia, Stara Zagora, Targovishte, Haskovo, Shumen and Yambol, as well as cross-border conferences in Belgrade, Bosilegrad, Bucharest, Edirne, Skopje and Thessaloniki.
In April, cross-border conferences were held in Bosilegrad, Serbia and in Thessaloniki, Greece. The achievements in the North-East planning region were presented at conferences in Varna and Dobrich. On April 24, the next and last local conference for the month is coming up in Shumen.
