Municipalities from the region will participate in the nominations for the first time BURGAS BUSINESS AWARDS and will fight for a prestigious distinction, which the organizers have foreseen with the idea of ​​it being a motive and incentive in upgrading the interaction between entrepreneurship and local administrations. The honorary award is part of the awards for contribution to business development in the region. The nominated municipalities are:

Sozopol – the city to which everyone returns

In the last 4 years, the municipality of Sozopol has made exceptional progress in its development not only as a favorite destination for tourists, but also as an attractive place for investments. Mayor Tihomir Yanakiev’s team designs and implements numerous infrastructure and social projects that continuously improve living, tourism and business standards.

The road network throughout the municipality is constantly being improved, which solves a number of logistical problems and communication between settlements.

To attract tourists and promote business, the municipality of Sozopol is taking steps to extend the season. For the first time this year, September becomes the month of culture, continuing the 40-year cultural tradition of the Apollonia Arts Festival. Until the end of the month, a number of cultural events will be held in the city, as well as in nearby Chernomorets, and outside of this month, Sozopol continues to perform its rich cultural program throughout the summer. Many bands from sister cities in Turkey, Spain and Greece also visit here.

Tsarevo – the hidden jewel of the south

The Municipality of Tsarevo is the place in the south where comfort and tranquility, history and opportunities for a full-fledged vacation merge. One of the most hospitable municipalities welcomes its guests with open arms to explore the area and its rich heritage.

The economic appearance of Tsarevo municipality is determined by the diverse production of glass plastics for yachts, boats, water slides, sleds, sanitary equipment, etc., which find a market throughout Europe. Here is also the largest port south of the regional center Burgas, and its greatest advantage is its proximity to the exit of the Bosphorus. The water in its water area is the cleanest along the entire coast. Its international status is among the factors that make the port in the city of Tsarevo particularly preferred by yachtsmen.

With the variety of sights of a different nature (natural, historical, architectural), the Municipality of Tsarevo emerges as one of the most attractive in terms of tourism. The unique combination of sea, mountains and rivers, exotic vegetation and diversity of animal and plant species, along with traditions and authentic Strandzha culture and customs, provide diverse opportunities for the development of tourism – educational, ecotourism, yacht tourism, photo and hobby tourism, hunting tourism etc.

Sungurlare – the wine valley with an ambition in the development of wine tourism

Sungurlar Valley is a little corner of heaven. It is nestled in the southern foothills of the Balkans. The main livelihood in the municipality is viticulture. Centuries-old traditions of growing grapes for good Bulgarian wine are preserved here. The best red musket for the production of white wine is grown in the Sungurlar valley, which is also called Sungurlar musket. Among the varieties of wine grown in Sungurlare are Muscat Otonel, Rakatsitel, Pamid, Keratsa, and in the recent history of wine production in the region, vineyards were planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah varieties.

The future of Sungurlare is focused on modern winemaking. It is undoubtedly the leader in wine production in the region “Winex Slavyantsi”, which has five production bases in the area and cultivates over 7,000 decares of vineyards, from which still wines, sparkling wines, brandies and liqueurs are produced. Like any large enterprise, it relies on mass production and sales on international markets.

The interest of Bulgarian and foreign tourists in the wine valley is growing. The desire to invest in new vineyards and wine cellars is also increasing. In the future plans of the municipality is to develop rural tourism. The municipality is looking for opportunities to attract investments and make revenues for the development of tourism. Among the plans of the municipal leadership is to give additional impetus to local wine producers for the development of wine tourism in the valley.
