“We are the owners of a house in a courtyard, located in the village of Kostievo, Maritsa municipality, Plovdiv region. A cemetery park has been built near us. In a conversation with the mayor of the village, we found out that he intends to expand the cemetery in question Cemetery.
Back in December, we sent a report to the competent institutions, but they forwarded our reports to the “Maritsa” municipality, which did not respond to our complaints and reports at all. We have authorized a lawyer on the case, and alerts have been sent to RZI – Plovdiv, RDNSK – Plovdiv and to the municipality “Maritsa” itself, but unfortunately there is no response from them, and they only forward the files to the municipality.
On 04.04.2024 four people were buried in the corresponding extension of the cemetery park without being notified. We believe that the corresponding expansion of the cemetery park does not rest on the law at all – in this sense, we have not presented a decision of the Municipal Council, nor any normative or administrative act concerning the expansion.
Also Ordinance No. 2 of April 21, 2011 for the health requirements for cemetery parks and the transportation of the dead in this case was not observed. The extension in question is located 10 meters from our house. Given that none of the institutions are taking action, I am asking you to publicize the case.
