Was she tied up and what are her relatives insisting on

A 104-year-old woman was tied by the limbs while being treated at a hospital in Vidin. This is claimed by her relatives, who were not allowed to visit her during her stay in the medical facility.

After the woman was discharged, her relatives saw bruises on her body. The patient was admitted to the internal medicine department on April 17.

Epicrisis without intervention: A woman complained about a fictitious operation in Burgas

On the air of “Hello, Bulgaria”, the grandson of the victim, Emil Trifonov, said that the woman was left in the medical facility without an escort. Her relatives only received information about her condition, as there were no sightings. “After she was discharged, she had lost weight. We saw that there were bruises on her wrists and on her legs. When my mother arrived at the hospital for discharge, she saw that one of her hands was tied,” said Trifonov. He added that the woman had complained about her stay at the medical facility.

Dr. Bogdan Tomov, deputy director of the medical facility, explained that the patient was psychomotorically agitated at times. “Temporary physical restraint measures have been taken so that treatment can take place,” he said. According to him, the skin changes claimed to be due to ligatures did not correspond to the localization of the places that were the subject of treatment. “Most likely, this is due to skin and trophic changes related to severe accompanying diseases. The patient was treated according to medical standards and the accusations are unfounded,” Tomov is categorical.
