A proposal to make the green zone for paid parking in Burgas year-round, with winter and summer working hours, is part of the agenda of the local parliament today. Municipal councilors also propose the introduction of stricter rules for electric scooters. Among the other report notes is the proposal to convert the school in the “Rudnik” district from a unified one to a secondary one. The session will start at 9.00 am.

The Municipality of Burgas proposes a new strategy for paid parking in the city, by eliminating the so-called “hybrid zone”. The idea of ​​a year-round green zone was entirely dictated by the residents of Lazur, explained the director of OP Transport, Plamen Dimitrov. According to him, the summer working hours will be kept as they are until now, and the winter working hours will start after the end of September and will function like that of the blue zone – from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. “Another proposal we are making is the unification of certain sub-zones of the blue and green zones. In this unification, we have divided from 28 sub-zones in the blue zone, now we make them 9 and from 6 in the green zone we make them 4, mainly dividing them along the main boulevards and large streets of the city of Burgas”, said Plamen Dimitrov.

Stricter rules for electric scooters in Burgas are proposed by a group of municipal councilors. The emphasis is on speed reduction and penalties for improperly parked and abandoned scooters. “Many people are complaining and we decided to undertake these changes in the ordinance. Moreover, on January 11 of this year, the Supreme Administrative Court finally canceled the old texts adopted in the previous mandate of the municipal council. It is clear to us that UKORS does not have sufficient human resources resource to be able to carry out constant, almost round-the-clock control. We hope that with all this media noise and with these changes, we will awaken a little civic awareness and that people will feel that it depends on them, “explained Yordan Valev, one of the importers of the report note.

The municipal councilors will also vote on the local administration’s proposal to apply for the reclamation of Cell 1 of the Regional Depot in Bratovo. The agenda also includes sales by public auction of several municipal properties – 7 in the “Shiloto” area and 10 in the “Banevo” quarter and the “Mineralni Bani” villa area.
