A meeting of the police with representatives of the municipality, teachers and businesses was held in the Municipality of V. Tarnovo.
The meeting began with a report-analysis of the criminogenic situation in the territory served by the RU – V. Tarnovo from the beginning of 2024, presented by the head of the police department, chief inspector Veselin Raykov.
The Deputy Director of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – V. Tarnovo, Commissioner Hristo Hristov, thanked those present and outlined the priorities in the work of the Ministry of the Interior and, in particular, of the Regional Directorate. Among them are the prevention of conventional crime, countermeasures against the spread of narcotic substances, traffic safety and preventive work with children and young people. These meetings also aim to restore the trust of the citizens, which is of particular importance to us, Commissioner Hristov emphasized.
Special attention was paid to the problem of the distribution of narcotic tea. Commissioner Hristov appeals to the representatives of the educational institutions to be vigilant and, in case of doubt, to immediately alert the police officers, so that the necessary actions are taken and things are nipped in the bud. Problems concerning vandalism in the yards of kindergartens and schools after working hours and the need for police presence in small settlements during weekends were commented on. In the discussion, it was concluded that the construction of an effective video surveillance system is of no less importance for the effective work of police officers. On this occasion, the Deputy Mayor of V. Tarnovo Municipality, Eng. Georgi Kamarashev, thanked the police officers for their good cooperation and emphasized that nothing in the city and the municipality happens without their cooperation. He admitted that the Municipality owes them regarding the construction of a video surveillance system, for which funds are still lacking.
Those present thanked the police officers for their responsiveness and good work. Rositsa Dimitrova, director of the “Social Assistance” Directorate of V. Tarnovo Municipality, gave special thanks. She expressed her great satisfaction with the excellent cooperation and joint work in the centers for work with children and youth.
Blagovesta Fakirova, in her capacity as a representative of the non-governmental sector, also expressed special thanks. She invited the children from the schools and kindergartens of V. Tarnovo to see the specialized fire and road safety sites built in the village of Balvan and boasted that this year the Children’s Summer Police Academy has a new partner in the form of the BDZ. She revealed that an imitation railway crossing will be opened at the Center for Work with Children, which will be useful in training the children and youth in the municipality in terms of road safety.
The meeting was also attended by the head of the “Security Police” department at the ODMVR – V. Tarnovo, Commissioner Yosif Pavlov, employees of the RU – V. Tarnovo, mayors and deputy mayors, directors of educational institutions, business representatives and citizens.
