Over 650 performers will sing and dance in the streets of the seaside town to transform it into a real colorful capital during the weekend. On 5 stages located in different places, 16 folk dance ensembles will perform, 6 theater schools for contemporary art will perform modern ballet, Latin, hip-hop and sports dances, 10 choral and vocal formations, a youth brass band and 4 youth theater schools.
The celebrations start already on Friday, April 26, at 11:00 a.m. with a holiday concert in the park of the Slaveykov complex. It is entitled “Oi, Lazare, Tsvetnitsa ide, Tsvetnitsa and Easter in a private day St. George’s Day” and is organized by the National “Pencho Slaveykov 1983”, Burgas. In addition to the concert, creative workshops and a bazaar are planned.
On April 27, at 10:30 a.m., a children’s workshop “Tsvetolinie” will be opened at “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” square. From 11:00 a.m., the dance formations of the Folklore Ensemble “Atanas Manchev” will perform a concert on the festive stage. Both initiatives are organized by the “Probuda 1880” – Burgas.
On April 27, at 11:30 a.m., on “Aleko Konstantinov” street, popularly known as the street of crafts, the “Lyubov” art studio will be opened, headed by Rositsa Chobanova. From 12:30 p.m., the festive program will continue there with a concert by the Vocal Studio “Seasons” at the “Probuda 1880” NB with conductor Kina Hristova and the Folk Choir “Trepetlika” with conductor Pepa Zapryanova.
Undoubtedly, one of the culminations of Lazarov Day in Burgas is the opening of the National Flower Exhibition “Flora Burgas 2024”. The official ceremony for this starts at 11:00 at the exhibition center of the same name. The musicians from the band “Hot Sand” will perform a concert, and a dance performance will present the children from the “Magic” school. From 5:30 p.m., the Burgas brass band will play on the stage at the “Flora” expo center.
Burgas Municipality has prepared a rich program for April 28 – Palm Sunday.
On Palm Sunday, 5 different zones will be set apart in the city center, where the events of the holiday program will take place.
The events will take place at St. Cyril and Methodius Square, Aleksandrovska Street, Atanas Sirekov Square, the garden near the Clock and the garden next to the Church of the Holy Virgin.
Hundreds of children from Burgas schools and kindergartens will participate in a flower parade with lots of dancing. It will start at 11:00 a.m. from “Troikata” square and will pass along “Aleksandrovska” street to “Atanas Sirekov” square.
The art bazaar on “Aleko Konstantinov” street will continue throughout the day, and from 11:00 a.m. a concert will begin there with the participation of the Sun Drops Ballet with director Maria Miteva and the “Siyanie” Ballet School with choreographer Gabriela Stefanova to “Far 1946”, as well as “Retro Burgas” vocal group for pop songs at “Asen Zlatarov 1940” under the direction of Alexander Perperiev.
Two large folklore concerts will be held on Tsvetnitsa in the “Meden Rudnik” complex. One stage will be located in the space between blocks 46 and 51, where there will also be an art bazaar. will create Orchestra “Zharava” with soloists – Irena Stankova and Lazar Nalbantov, FF “Chinkite”, VS “Primo”, Dance groups “Medeno kotelle” and Art school “Vaya”. The second concert in “Meden Rudnik” will take place in front of the chapel “St. Dimitar”. It will be attended by graduates of the “Dobri Chintulov” University of Burgas and their teachers – Panayot Stoychev, Tsvetelina Stoycheva, Georgi Mironski, Galya Gilova, DFG “Zvanika” at the “Paisiy Hilendarski 1928” Primary School with director Vanya Jenezova, Ladies’ Folklorna group at the “Demokratsia” pensioner’s club, Gaidar school “Yasen Mesz” at the “Paisii Hilendarski 1928” school with the teacher Georgi Mironski. On Palm Sunday, the Burgas brass band will play again on the stage at the “Flora” Expocenter from 10:30 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. During this time, from 11:30 a.m., a children’s workshop on planting orchids will be held. Its organizer is The first orchid society in Bulgaria. From 14:00 there will be a lecture and demonstration on the topic “Orchids”. From 18:00, original electronic music of Burgas artists from BORA PROJECT will be presented.
At the Center for Contemporary Art and Library – Acad. Konstantin Petkanov hall, from 11:00 am, the “Easter Bell” will be held – a children’s educational and entertainment performance of the “Pan” theater.
At 11:30 a.m., a concert begins on “Atanas Sirekov” square with the participation of: DG “Magic”, DG “Zdravets”, DG “Iglika”, Gaidar Orchestra “Mladost” at CPLR with director Georgi Georgiev, NH “Trepetlika” and DFF “Shareni Gaitani” with teacher Pepa Zapryanova, TS “Mladost” to OU “Elin Pelin” with teacher Margarita Koleva, DTS “Trakiiche Burgas” with teacher Teodora Voynova, FG “Medeni Zvncheta” to OU Elin Pelin” with director Kremena Didova.
