The 19th edition of the Reading Marathon of the “Dora Gabe” Regional Library – Dobrich is dedicated to Yordan Radichkov

In the Dora Gabe Regional Library, the 19th edition of the Reading Marathon began on World Book and Copyright Day – April 23. This year it is dedicated to the 90th year since the birth of Yordan Radichkov.
The actor from the “Yordan Yovkov” Drama Theater Krasimir Demirov read to the children an excerpt from “A Feathered Bird” from “We Sparrows” by Yordan Radichkov. The marathon continued with a relay reading, which began with the students of the III “b” grade of “Petko R. Slaveykov” secondary school. They started with the story of their class teacher Yanka Valkova – “The Ribbon”, and continued with the poem “Friends” by Leda Mileva. The students also presented a dramatization of the fairy tale “The frog who claimed to be a bewitched king’s daughter” based on Yordan Radichkov’s book “The Colorful Rug”. The children also presented many “Little Frog Stories”.
The Reading Marathon was attended by the Deputy Mayor “Humanitarian Activities” of the Municipality of Dobrich Vladimir Trendafilov and the Deputy Regional Governor Zhivko Zhelyazkov.
The director of the library, Teodora Denkova, greeted the attendees and welcomed them for their desire to participate in the library’s biggest celebration – the Reading Marathon. Greetings were also sent by the guests.
The day also started with a Reading Marathon at the “Yordan Yovkov” Memorial House. The children from “Vesela” Kindergarten – Dobrich visited there. The chief curator of the cultural institute, Dr. Kremena Miteva, introduced them to the work of Dora Gabe and, in particular, to her poems for children. Together they recited the poem “The Cat and Jory”.
