From April 26 to 28 in Yambol, the mountain bike competition in the cross-country Olympic discipline – Yambol Bike Cup 2024 will be held. The organizers of the competition are sports club “Free Riders United”, “Concept Creative Crew” and Yambol municipality.
The race will take place in the specialized mountain biking area in Lesopark Borovets, which was built in 2022.
Yambol Bike Cup 2024 is the first Bulgarian cross-country class 2 race in the calendar of the International Cycling Union (UCI). Only licensed competitors can participate in it – from children up to 10 years old to veterans. Foreign competitors have already submitted applications, which will make the competition even more contested and interesting.
Cross-country Olympic is the only Olympic discipline in mountain biking. It is a mass start with a certain number of laps on a course that includes descents and ascents on rough terrain with a circular route. The objective of the cyclists is to complete all laps in the shortest possible time.
The winners in all categories will receive: up to third place – cups and gifts, in separate categories – cash prizes and gifts provided by the municipality of Yambol and partners. The total prize fund is BGN 3,600.
