“Dora Gabe” Regional Library – Dobrich awarded its most active readers

Dora Gabe Regional Library (RB) in Dobrich honored its most active readers and like-minded people for the previous year on World Book and Copyright Day – April 23.
The annual awards of the library were presented by the Deputy Mayor “Humanitarian Activities” of the Municipality of Dobrich, Vladimir Trendafilov.
Nine-year-old Teodor Kolev and 65-year-old Diana Toncheva were awarded the “Reader of 2023” prize. The students of the III “b” grade of “Petko R. Slaveikov” secondary school with class teacher Yanka Valkova were awarded the Most Reading Class of 2023. “Hristo Botev” Primary School received the prize for the most active partner of the library, and Neli, Radostin, Martin, Vladislav and Yonko Stanchevi were awarded for the most reading family.
RB “Dora Gabe” also presented a certificate for the good example of being a volunteer. It was presented to 17-year-old Bobbi Jay Maul, who said she was thinking of continuing her education in the field of philosophy and librarianship.
The team of the cultural institute also presented the prizes to the winners of the second National online competition “The creative world of Dora Gabe in drawings”. It was organized on the occasion of the 136th anniversary of the birth of the poet Dora Gabe. Children and students from 6 to 18 years old took part in it.
93 children from the city of Dobrich and the region, from Ruse, Plovdiv, Sofia, the regions of Targovishte, Blagoevgrad, Varna, Silistra, Haskovo, Kardjali, Shumen and Lovech participated in the competition. The initiative gave an opportunity for teenagers, both large and from smaller settlements, said the director of the library, Teodora Denkova.
According to the regulation, the drawings were judged by likes on the library’s Facebook page.
The awards were presented by the deputy regional governor of Dobrich, Zhivko Zhelyazkov. The winners received certificates and cash prizes.
First place was awarded to Ralitsa Atanasova, 14 years old, from the village of Smolnitsa, Dobrichka municipality. The second place prize went to six-year-old Ivayla Hristova from Dora Gabe Kindergarten – Dobrich, and the third prize went to the drawing “Truth is Silent” by sixteen-year-old Nergis Mazlum from Dobrich. Two incentive prizes were awarded to Hristina Atanasova from Beloslav, Varna region, and Preslava Vasileva from Lovech. They will receive their prizes by mail.
