The executive director of “Medical Supervision” Ivanka Dineva appointed an extraordinary inspection in connection with information that appeared about possible violence of a 104-year-old patient in a hospital in Vidin.

The information about the case appeared after reports on NOVA and bTV. They said a 104-year-old woman was tied by the limbs while being treated at a hospital in Vidin. The allegations were made by her relatives, who were not allowed to visit her during her stay in the medical facility.

After the woman was discharged, her relatives saw bruises on her body. The patient was admitted to the internal medicine department on April 17.

On the air of NOVA, the grandson of the victim, Emil Trifonov, said that the woman was left in the medical facility without an escort. Her relatives only received information about her condition, as there were no sightings. “After she was discharged, she had lost weight. We saw that there were bruises on her wrists and legs. When my mother arrived at the hospital when she was discharged, she saw that one of her hands was tied,” said Trifonov. He adds that the woman complained about her stay in the medical facility.

The inspection starts today. The “Medical Supervision” IA is categorical that the Minister of Health and the public will be informed of the results of the inspection after its completion.
