The municipal council in Burgas postponed the discussions and voting on the lease of property in the Sea Garden to the “Lili Ivanova” Foundation for a period of 10 years. A number of questions were raised at a session of the local parliament today. We remind you that the proposal was submitted by the deputy. mayor Stanimir Apostolov with the idea of the foundation building a new Cultural Center in Burgas. The property being offered is under “Renovations”.

“Why don’t we give it to the Plamen Stavrev Foundation, for example?” asked Ivo Baev. Other councilors emphasized the benefits the city will have.

Prof. Sevdalina Turmanova made a proposal to postpone the debates and voting. “Different opinions were formed in the hall and questions arose that the petitioner should answer so that the municipal councilors can acquire the right to make an informed choice,” she said.

“We will postpone the debate because I really see that there are a lot of questions that I don’t know if within 1, 2 or 3 hours, without specialized preparation and analysis, can be answered. With this postponement of the debates and the vote, we will be able to get to know each other at the next session. We have distinguished lawyers and cultural figures, the proposal for me is magnificent. Lili Ivanova is a name that will beautify our most beautiful city, but we must protect the interests of the city, our cultural history, and we must approach in the most precise way,” said the chairman of the local parliament, Mihail Hadjiyanev.
