The Academy of the International Festival of Red Cross and Health Films will be held from June 20 to 23 in Varna

The Academy of the International Festival of Red Cross and Health Films will be held from June 20 to 23 in Varna, the organizers from the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) and the Medical University in the city announced at the press conference.
The program includes morning discussions, afternoon activities and creative workshops, as well as evening screenings of films at Radio Varna and at the cultural space “ReBonkers”, announced the director of the forum and chairman of the Regional Council of the BCH in Varna, Iliya Raev.
The opening will be at the Festival and Congress Center with a film that will be presented by the artistic director Prof. Bozhidar Manov. It is expected that this will be a French title that will be shown for the first time in Bulgaria, added Raev.
On the first day, the discussion will be devoted to everyday humanism and the self-perception of man in the conditions of crisis. It will include Prof. Ivo Hristov, Tatiana Doncheva, Encho Gospodinov and Prof. Mihail Nedelchev. The second debate is about the mental health of society and new trends in people’s communication. The experts Prof. Tatiana Burudzhieva, Dr. Tsveteslava Galabova and Diana Ovcharova were invited for it. The last conversation at the Academy focuses on social innovation and will be attended by Vladislav Nikolov, organizer of the “I believe and help” campaign, Diana Nasteva and Yavor Yanakiev (100 kilos), who is known for his donations to social institutions and causes , Raev said.
Afternoon classes will focus on adaptation to climate change and participants will be transported on electric bicycles. Plants will be planted in several places in Varna, including in the yard of ReBonkers.
Among the films that will be shown at all Academy evenings are “Journey to Forgiveness”, “Up North”, “Working Class Goes to Hell”, “Danger Zone”, “Expect Too Much from the End of the World”. Many of them are Balkan co-productions, the director of the festival announced. There will also be a special program of award-winning titles of the International Red Cross Festival and health films for all the years of its existence, he added.
The press conference was attended by the chairman of the BCH, Academician Hristo Grigorov, Gen. the director of BCHK Prof. Krasimir Gigov, the chairman of the General Assembly of the Medical University (MU) – Varna Prof. Krasimir Ivanov and the rector of the educational institution Prof. Dimitar Raykov.
