The Mayor of Blagoevgrad Municipality, Metodi Baikushev, presented an updated Plan for Integrated Development of Blagoevgrad Municipality (PIRO) at a public hearing. During the meeting in the “September 22” hall, it became clear that among the objects of strategic importance for the municipality of Blagoevgrad are the renovation and reconstruction of the “Hunting House” park, the Botanical Garden, the Zoo area and the “Bachinovo” park, the construction of underground public parking lots , to completely solve the problem of car parking in the Central part of the city, as well as reconstruction, correction and covering of “Alexander Stamboliyski” Street, etc.
It is planned to renovate and build a new building at 9 Primary School “P. Yavorov”, renovation of the courtyard spaces of the schools, as well as creation of many new social services. In PIRO, the construction of a new building for municipal housing in the residential area was also planned. “Strumsko”, but after meetings with residents of the neighborhood and a constructive dialogue, the project was dropped, and an underground parking lot and an adjacent park will be built in the same place.
By realizing the objects provided in the PIRO, the mayor’s team is betting on the development of the educational, social, health, cultural and sports infrastructure in the municipality, and the goal is to increase the quality of life.
