The municipality of Ruse reminds that on May 10 the deadline for accepting proposals for this year’s winners of the “Ruse” and “Young Artist” awards, which are presented annually at a solemn ceremony on the eve of May 24, the municipal press center announced.

The “Ruse” award honors creators, actors, creative teams with merit in the fields of art and culture, education and science for a significant contribution to raising the authority of Ruse. The award is presented to individuals for achievements between May 10 of the previous year and May 10 of the current year. Individuals and organizations awarded the same award in previous years cannot receive the “Rousse” award.

The award is presented in two areas as follows:
Art and Culture:

1. Literature – 1 individual award – prose, poetry, dramaturgy, translation, journalism and cultural-historical heritage.
2. Performing arts – 1 individual and 1 collective award – theater, opera, operetta, musical, puppet theater, dance, music.
3. Visual arts – 1 individual award – fine art, architecture, film art, audio-visual art.
4. Outstanding contribution in the field of art and culture – 1 individual award.

Education and Science:

1. Achievements in the field of preschool, elementary, primary education – 1 individual award.
2. Achievements in the field of high school and higher education – 1 individual award.
3. For scientific and teaching team – 1 collective award.
4. Outstanding contribution in the field of education – 1 individual award.

Those honored with the “Ruse” 2024 award will receive a bronze statuette designed by sculptor Georgi Radulov and a diploma.

The “Young Artist” award honors young Ruse artists in the field of arts and culture under the age of 30 with high creative and artistic achievements. It was founded in memory of the actors Yana and Georgi Stefanovi and is accompanied by a sum of money in the amount of BGN 600 and an award badge provided by their family.

The proposals for the two awards are deposited in the office of the municipality of Ruse in a sealed envelope with the nomination category clearly written and should contain a comprehensive argumentation, as well as be prepared by organizations and institutions working in the relevant fields.
