This Thursday at 7:05 p.m. hall “Prof. Veneta Vicheva” will be resounding with bright melodies and the promising talent of students from NUI “Dobri Hristov” – Varna. Under the baton of the conductor Lyubomir Alexandrov, the symphonic concert “Side by Side” will highlight the future potential of the Bulgarian music scene.

The soloists in the concert are talented budding musicians who have proven their tenacity in prestigious competitions. Bojana Nikolova /double bass/, Sofia Ivanova /flute/, Andrew Mladenov /clarinet/, Elitsa Nikolova /piano/, Dara Pavlova /violin/, Stanislav Nikolov /accordion/ and Fernando Leon Vasev /piano/ will offer a rich and varied program – with works by Beethoven, Mozart, Saint-Saëns, Ravel, Parashkev Hadjiev and other composers. Graduates of the Varna Music School have made a significant contribution to the world of music. Prominent our conductors, composers, singers, concert artists, music and ballet teachers, ballet artists have passed through the school. It is no surprise that almost half of the orchestra members of the Shumen Symphony also graduated from the “Dobri Hristov” National School of Arts. On the evening of April 25, among them will be students who will contribute to the orchestral sound.

For “Dobri Hristov” National School of Arts – Varna:
The school dates back to 1944 as the first state music institute in the city. In 1956, it received the name of the notable music pedagogue, critic, composer, academician Dobri Hristov.
Today, the school offers a wide range of majors, including classical musical instruments, classical singing, ballet, visual arts, Bulgarian folk instruments, folk singing, pop and jazz singing. NUI “Dobri Hristov” actively contributes to the cultural scene of Varna by participating in local and international events such as the MMF “Varna Summer”, concerts and exhibitions. It hosts national and international competitions promoting the work of Bulgarian and foreign composers. With its rich heritage and striving for artistic excellence, NUI “Dobri Hristov” continues to nurture the talents of future generations, enriching the cultural landscape of Bulgaria and beyond.
