A famous Bulgarian and a talent with an occasion to treat, he is very connected with Plovdiv

Orlin Orlinov Pavlov was born on April 23, 1979 in the city of Sofia. His parents have been opera soloists of the Plovdiv Opera for 30 years. Orlin Pavlov Sr. is a bass player and his mother Tiha Genova is a soprano. His grandfather is Pavel Pavlov, a fighter pilot who died during World War II.

At the age of 14, Orlin was accepted into the theatrical-experimental class of Nikolay Georgiev and into the troupe “4xS”, which toured many Bulgarian and international stages and won many awards.

Later, he was admitted to Plovdiv University “Paisiy Hilendarski”, majoring in “Scenic Synthetic Arts”. In parallel with his studies, he worked at the “State Satirical Variety Theater” in Gabrovo as an actor for two years. In 1998, he auditioned for a show program at the “Opera” club in Sofia, where he worked together with Galya and Miro, the pianist Zhivko Petrov, as well as with other popular Bulgarian names in music.

In 2002, he was invited to become the vocalist of the group “Kaffe”. In 2003, they released their only album “Alone”, with which two years later they won the “Album of the Year” award at the annual music awards of MM Television. Other awards they have won over the years are: third place at the “Golden Deer” 2003 in the city of Brasov, Romania; award for a group on “Melo TV mania” in 2004. The peak of the group’s popularity came with its victory at the first Bulgarian song contest at “Eurovision” in 2005. In 2007, it participated in the dance performance “36” at the Theater Workshop “Sfumato”.

After four years with the band “Kaffe” in 2006, Orlin Pavlov started a solo career. His first solo song was “Mechtaesh li”. Subsequently, the song “Chicago” was released, as well as the duets “Sweet poison” (with Svetla Ivanova) and “Every year at the same time” (with Beloslava).

Participated in two world reality shows – “Dancing stars” and “VIP Brother” 2012, winning both. In 2009, he was a judge in “VIP Dance”. He hosted his own daily show on PRO BG TV in 2010, and in 2011 he played the role of Hristo Manchev in the series “Payback”. In 2013, he performed the main role in the film “Living Legends”. In 2015, he became a jury of the “Junior Eurovision Song Contest”. In 2016, he entered a third reality format – “Like two drops of water”.

Orlin Pavlov works successfully and in cooperation with his colleagues. In 2012, the song “Sekunda” was released, with the participation of the rapper Bobo. The song rose to No. 1 in the Bulgarian charts. Another joint project of Orlin and DJ Borche followed – “Every Day”, again with the participation of Bobo. The song “Living Legends” at the end of 2013 is a soundtrack to Niki Iliev’s film of the same name, in which Orlin Pavlov plays the main role. In 2015, together with the band The Brassstones, the song “Everyday” was released. At the beginning of 2016, together with the rapper Christo, they broadcast a video for the song “Look what happened”. In the beginning of autumn 2016, he presented the video for his latest song “With one wing”.

In April 2014, Orlin Pavlov made his first musical tour in the United States in the cities of Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, Hyannis (Cape Cod), Atlanta together with Borislav Boyadzhiev, better known as DJ Borche.

Alongside his career in pop music, Orlin also performed on the jazz scene. Successful and long-term projects have been implemented with Zhivko Petrov, JP3 and Big Band “Brass Association” and Angel Zaberski – son.

On June 3, 2015, on the stage of the Bulgaria Hall, he performed a solo concert together with the Big Band “Brass Association” led by Angel Zaberski and the Sofia Philharmonic in honor of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Frank Sinatra, and his own songs, specially arranged for chamber orchestra.

In 2019, Orlin Pavlov took to the stage of the Sofia Opera and Ballet for an outstanding role in the musical “Les Miserables”, that of police officer Javert. The interest in the performance is huge, both in Bulgaria and throughout the world.

In December 2008, Orlin Pavlov and the dancer Yana Akimova won the first Bulgarian television competition “Dancing Stars”.

In 2009, he participated in the Golden Deer, where he performed the ballad “Lonely” and a cover of the Romanian group “Direction 5”. He manages to get into the final nine.

In 2009, he was invited to the jury in the first season of VIP dance Bulgaria.

On March 3, 2016, Orlin started his participation in the fourth season of the unique television show “Like two drops of water” with 8 other participants, popular Bulgarian personalities. Orlin took on the role of various musical performers from the Bulgarian and international scenes.

Pavlov is known for several roles in cinema and television, among which are the series “House Arrest”, “Payback”, “The Path of Honor” and “The Lies in Us”, Dear Heirs, as well as the films “Living Legends”, “Knockout or Everything She Wrote’, ‘Smart Christmas’, ‘The Return’ and ‘The Return 2’.
