For the seventh year in a row, the Bulgarian Center for Non-Profit Law (BCNP) organizes the national competition “Civil Alarm Clock”. This year’s theme is “Activism in Action: The Power to Save Urban Nature”.

Candidates over 14 years of age can participate, and there are three categories: photography, illustration and literature.

Applicants should submit an author’s a work that reflects real events or incidents from urban areas, meetings with civic organizations, volunteers, activists for the green cause, or be entirely a figment of their imagination.

The seventh edition of “Civil Alarm Clock” is again looking for the intersection of human rights, activism and the art of contemporary artists.

“For us, it is important to provoke the civic activism on which the solution of important social problems depends. This competition aims to do just that – to find the stories that inspire action and engagement” – specified for Radio Stara Zagora Eileen Yumerova, program director of BCNP and coordinator of the project.
