The Ukrainian association of milk processors plans to double its export of raw materials to the Bulgarian market. This became clear at a meeting of the branch organization with the Bulgarian Association of Milk Processors in Veliko Tarnovo, BNR reported.
This is the first meeting between the two associations. Bilateral cooperation is planned to increase the import of Ukrainian raw, dry and condensed milk, which are cheaper than Bulgarian milk.
In the words of Arsene Didur from the Ukrainian Association of Milk Processors in Bulgaria and now raw materials are imported from Ukrainian enterprises that have been checked by the European Veterinary Commission. “In 2023, we have delivered from Ukraine to Bulgaria 2,500 tons of dry milk. Ukraine is able to deliver 5,000 tons of dry milk to Bulgaria. We can deliver over 2,000 tons of condensed milk. If Bulgaria needs and is ready, we can also deliver other types of production,” he explained.

Plamen Angelov from the Management Board of the Bulgarian Association of Milk Processors commented that the processors in our country buy the raw milk of the farmers in our country, but it is not enough. “At least 30% have a shortage of quality raw milkof raw material that is no longer produced by Bulgarian livestock breeders,” he specified.
An online meeting has been scheduled for next month between the acting Minister of Agriculture of our country Georgi Takhov and his Ukrainian colleague Mykola Solski, who is being investigated for the illegal acquisition of state land worth about 7 million dollars. Among the planned topics is the increase in the import of Ukrainian raw materials for the Bulgarian dairy industry.
