“We are conducting active talks with Prof. Dr. Yanko Yanev to be the leader of the Pleven list of “LEVITSATA!” in the upcoming parliamentary elections. This is a prominent Bulgarian who holds prestigious international positions related to nuclear energy. One of these positions is Vice-Chairman of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency.”
This was announced by the regional coordinator of “LEVITSATA!” in Pleven, Ivan Mandinski. He clarified that with this candidacy for the leader of the “LEFT” list, he wants to declare his commitment to the energy security and independence of Bulgaria. In addition, this way she will give a sign to the people of Pleven of her commitment to the resumption and construction of the “Belene” NPP.
It is expected that in addition to being the leader of the list of the Pleven list for the parliamentary vote, Prof. Yanev will be included in the list of “THE LEFT!” for the European elections.
Prof. Yanko Yanev is an exceptional capacity in the field of energy in general. He has enormous personal merits for the construction of the Kozloduy NPP and its development, and for the design and realization of the licenses for the site in Belene, added the leader of the ABV party Rumen Petkov.
“Prof. Yanev is a person with a very clear understanding of the technological way to realize the Belene NPP project with the active participation of France – Framatom, with the active participation of General Electric. It was also the basis of the negotiations 10 years ago for their attraction to the Belene project. During the election campaign, he will have an opportunity to present his understanding of both the Green Deal and the future of our country’s energy security. I am convinced that Prof. Yanev will also take an active part in the campaign for the European Parliament, because he is one of the biggest specialists in Europe,” said Petkov.
He stated that “THE LEFT!” will make a very strong election campaign, which is addressed to Bulgarian citizens – with clear and unconditional commitments in both Bulgarian and European institutions.
“We will do our best to come out with a full slate again in Pleven. We are continuing the talks, we have a serious team of prominent citizens of Pleven, who are committed to the causes of the LEFT! and have expressed their desire to participate in supporting our ideas,” said Ivan Mandinski.
