The people of an apartment block “Yantra” 2 in Vidin they expect the local municipal government to deal with a problem that has not been solved for years. They want the street in front of their entrance paved. They say that in rainy weather, water collects there and every step out of their home becomes an ordeal. They have to make a path with bricks and stones so that they can pass, and for the older people the obstacle is insurmountable. They have sought a solution from the Municipality several times, but to no avail. They claim that in the 35 years since their block was built, nothing has been done to improve the area around it.
“For 35 years, five cents of our money has not been invested here. Winter time is almost unbearable and when it rains, I don’t know where this money of ours goes. Should we go on strike? This is intolerable. winter, when the snow is big, when it freezes, do you ask us adults how we should go out. It is year round this water here. When it rains, it comes at the level of the steps.
