The deputy mayor for public order and security Iliya Koev discussed prospects for the development of Varna, at the invitation of the head of VVMU “N. Vaptsarov” Fleet Admiral Boyan Mednikarov. On the topic of infrastructural objects, he pointed out that the criteria for the companies for the implementation of street repairs have been increased. The creation of a special commission to monitor the quality of the activities is underway. The poor design of road infrastructure and the lack of investor and construction control under the previous government is the reason for the delay in the repair works, the deputy mayor pointed out. He added that in order to improve the urban environment, teams will be created for emergency and urgent repairs in the five districts of Varna.

In his address to the participants, Koev also indicated that part of the funds allocated to Varna under the investment program of the Ministry of Finance are intended for the construction of new kindergartens and nurseries. Under the same program, money has been pledged for two new parks.

The budget of Varna also includes funds for the construction of video surveillance to prevent vandalism.

It is also planned to place cameras around waste containers, which will improve the control of garbage collection and lead to the sanctioning of unscrupulous citizens.

It is also planned to set aside several municipal grounds for the collection of bulky waste.

Action is also being taken on the Stray Animal Shelter, which was in a deplorable state at the start of the term. With the new pace of work, timely castration and care for stray dogs, within 3 years we will solve the problem of stray dogs in the city, Koev said.

At the end of the talk, Deputy Mayor Iliya Koev called on all participants to join the large-scale campaign of the Municipality of Varna for the cleaning of the city, which will be held on April 27, Saturday.
