Children from Gorna Oryahovitsa painted a 23-meter drawing. The initiative is being held for the 10th time and is dedicated to the International Earth Day. Students from “Ivan Vazov” Primary School, “St. St. Cyril and Methodius”, SU “Georgi Izmirliev”, SU “Vicho Grncharov” and Club “The Earth and We” at the Center for Support for Personal Development. The initiative is organized by the Youth Home with the support of the Municipality of Gorna Oryahovitsa and the Local Commission for the fight against anti-social behavior of minors.
For an hour and a half, nearly 60 children created on the theme “Planets vs. Plastic”. This year on International Earth Day, the focus is on limiting plastic waste. The topic is set on a global scale by the World Environmental Movement. The children who participated in the creation of the longest drawing are convinced that it should be recycled to help nature, and then help people.
For the first time, the State Forestry – Gorna Oryahovitsa joined the initiative of the Youth Home, which provided red oak saplings free of charge for the participants and citizens. The organizers, for their part, also surprised the children with themed gifts – pots, soil, fertilizer and herb and flower seeds for them to sow and grow together with their classmates and supervisors.
While the little artists were creating, the mood was created with their songs by the young talents of the “Mamma mia” Music School headed by Emilia Pencheva.
After the children made the 23-meter-long drawing, the work was hung on the Youth Center building for all citizens to see.
