The problems in the beekeeping sector are still not solved and it is increasingly difficult for farms to survive. He stated this on the air of Radio Stara Zagora Rostislav Rashev, chairman of the “Lipa” beekeeping society. He pointed out the increased social burden on the part of social security as an unbearable tax on the activity of farmers and pointed out that the wholesale market has totally collapsed, and even at very low prices there is again no interest in the production.
Rashev once again expressed the opinion that the duty-free import of agricultural goods from Ukraine undermines the local market, as, in his words, a large part of the goods are not even Ukrainian at all, but enter our country and thus make the native production uncompetitive.
Rostislav Rashev concluded that only long-term political decisions in favor of the beekeeping sector could save it from practical closure.
