800 new unemployed per month in Haskovo region

800 are the newly registered unemployed in March in the region, reported the “Labor Bureau” Directorate in Haskovo.

348 people have lost their jobs in the service sector, 263 in industry, 33 in the agricultural sector, and 156 people have not specified the sector from which they were laid off last month.

In March, 451 people were employed in the region. A total of 220 vacancies have been applied for. 112 inactive persons were activated and registered during the period.

The unemployment rate in the district is 6.69% compared to 5.77% for the country. It decreased by 0.01% compared to February and increased compared to March 2023 by 0.9%.

As of March 31, 5,573 unemployed people were registered in the Haskovo region. The municipalities with the lowest unemployment rate are Svilengrad – 4.1% and Haskovo – 5.2%, and the highest is the municipality of Ivaylovgrad with 22%.

Haskovo Region ranks 14th in terms of unemployment among the 28 regions in the country.

The unemployed over the age of 50 are 2,432, or 43.6% of the total registered. There are 623 young people under the age of 29 and 11.2%, and 515 university graduates – 9.2%.

There are 1,090 permanently unemployed people who have been in the labor office for more than a year and make up 19.6% of all registered unemployed and have increased by 18 people compared to the previous month.
