The High School of Fashion Design with an excellent performance in the “Young Talents in Fashion” competition

Representatives of the High School of Fashion Design in V. Tarnovo performed excellently in the national competition for professions “Young Talents in Fashion”, organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The students and their leader and teacher Tsvetelina Tutovska-Milcheva won first prize for overall performance in the competition from the National Association of Fashion Schools “Rositsa Ivanova” and second place in the “Fashion Review” category. The impressive performance by the students of the school in the old capital comes on the eve of its 75th anniversary, which will be celebrated on April 26.
The competition was held in Varna, and the theme of the competition part was “With the breath of the sea”. The team of the Veliko Tarnovo High School of Fashion Design included: in the “Fashion Review” category – Yulia Yordanova, in the “Fashion Sketch” category – Petromira Popova, in the “Skillful Hands” category – Diana Stanimirova. About her model, Petromira shared that the goal was to show the public the future in recycling materials, giving them a second life. “Thus, the growing need for the ever-increasing ‘circular fashion’ trend has placed new challenges in our thinking as creatives,” she commented. This would be a successful business model that would save the world from pollution from the textile industry, its head also shared. Through the re-use of textiles and non-standard manipulations of different materials, the team of the High School of Fashion Design created an absolutely new non-woven textile that “paints” the sea like a panel of a picture, recreating depth and reflection. “The garment was meant to be multi-functional and practical, betting on the urban style, so we bet on a trick where the hood transforms into a jacket in a modern bomber cut, and the boots attached to the dress successfully transform into a sports bag. We thank the jury for evaluating our model on merit, giving us first and second prize in such a prestigious competition, rich in such young talents”, said the representatives of PGMD.
